Underground New York Public Library

The New York Public Library is possibly one of the most famous libraries in the world.  It is definitely a significant institution of information–as well as a tourist destination!  This blog, “Underground New York Public Library,” features candid photos taken of various NYC subway riders reading books.  Each entry displays the photo and the title and author of the book being read.  It’s simple in nature, but the idea behind it is unique.

And, as a librarian and teacher, anything that promotes reading (in any nature) is wonderful in my book! [no pun intended 🙂 ]

What do you think of this simple blog?  Would you take these book titles as suggestions for your next read?

I LOVE this blog– I used to save it for my favorite, last read of the day. However, it hasn’t been updated in months. Does anyone know the status of the blog?

Unfortunately, I think it has been abandoned and is no longer being updated. The posts that remain are still great though!
